룻기 1장 [킹제임스]

1. 1 In the days when the judges ruled, there was a famine in the land, and a man from Bethlehem in Judah, together with his wife and two sons, went to live for a while in the country of Moab.

   1 한편 재판관들이 다스리던 시대에 그 땅에 기근이 들어 베들레헴유다의 어떤 사람이 자기 아내와 두 아들을 데리고 모압 지방에서 체류하기 위해 갔는데

2. 2 The mans name was Elimelech, his wifes name Naomi, and the names of his two sons were Mahlon and Kilion. They were Ephrathites from Bethlehem, Judah. And they went to Moab and lived there.

   2 그 사람의 이름은 엘리멜렉이고 그의 아내의 이름은 나오미이며 그의 두 아들의 이름은 말론과 기룐이더라. 이들은 베들레헴유다의 에브랏 사람들인데 그들이 모압 지방에 들어가 거기에 계속 머물다가

3. 3 Now Elimelech, Naomis husband, died, and she was left with her two sons.

   3 나오미의 남편 엘리멜렉이 죽고 그녀와 그녀의 두 아들이 남게 되었더라.

4. 4 They married Moabite women, one named Orpah and the other Ruth. After they had lived there about ten years,

   4 그들이 모압 여인들 중에서 자기를 위해 아내를 취하였는데 하나의 이름은 오르바요, 다른 하나의 이름은 룻이더라. 그들이 거기서 십 년쯤 거하였을 때에

5. 5 both Mahlon and Kilion also died, and Naomi was left without her two sons and her husband.

   5 말론과 기룐 그들이 둘 다 죽고 그 여인은 자기의 두 아들과 남편 뒤에 남았더라.

6. 6 When she heard in Moab that the LORD had come to the aid of his people by providing food for them, Naomi and her daughters-in-law prepared to return home from there.

   6 ¶ 그때에 그녀가 모압 지방에서 돌아오려고 자기 며느리들과 함께 일어났으니 이는 주께서 자신의 백성을 찾아오사 그들에게 빵을 주셨다는 것을 그녀가 모압 지방에서 들었기 때문이더라.

7. 7 With her two daughters-in-law she left the place where she had been living and set out on the road that would take them back to the land of Judah.

   7 그러므로 그녀가 자기가 있는 곳에서 나가매 그녀의 두 며느리도 그녀와 함께하더라. 그들이 유다 땅으로 돌아오려고 길을 갈 때에

8. 8 Then Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, "Go back, each of you, to your mothers home. May the LORD show kindness to you, as you have shown to your dead and to me.

   8 나오미가 자기의 두 며느리에게 이르되, 가서 각각 자기 어머니 집으로 돌아가라. 너희가 죽은 자들과 나를 친절히 대한 것같이 주께서 너희를 친절히 대하시기를 원하며

9. 9 May the LORD grant that each of you will find rest in the home of another husband." Then she kissed them and they wept aloud

   9 주께서 너희가 각각 자기 남편 집에서 안식을 찾게 하시기를 원하노라, 하고 그들에게 입을 맞추매 그들이 소리 높여 울며

10. 10 and said to her, "We will go back with you to your people."

    10 그녀에게 이르되, 우리가 반드시 어머니와 함께 어머니의 백성에게 돌아가겠나이다, 하니

11. 11 But Naomi said, "Return home, my daughters. Why would you come with me? Am I going to have any more sons, who could become your husbands?

    11 나오미가 이르되, 되돌아가라. 내 딸들아, 너희가 어찌하여 나와 함께 가려 하느냐? 아직도 내 태에 아들들이 있어서 그들이 너희 남편이 되겠느냐?

12. 12 Return home, my daughters; I am too old to have another husband. Even if I thought there was still hope for me--even if I had a husband tonight and then gave birth to sons--

    12 되돌아가라. 내 딸들아, 너희 길로 갈지어다. 나는 너무 늙어 남편을 두지 못하노라. 가령 내가 소망이 있다고 말하거나 혹은 오늘 밤에 남편도 두고 아들들도 낳는다 하자.

13. 13 would you wait until they grew up? Would you remain unmarried for them? No, my daughters. It is more bitter for me than for you, because the LORDS hand has gone out against me!"

    13 그들이 자랄 때까지 너희가 그들을 기다리겠느냐? 그들로 인해 너희가 남편 두기를 멈추겠느냐? 내 딸들아, 아니라. 주의 손이 나와서 나를 치셨으므로 내가 너희로 인해 심히 괴롭도다, 하매

14. 14 At this they wept again. Then Orpah kissed her mother-in-law good-by, but Ruth clung to her.

    14 그들이 소리 높여 다시 울더라. 오르바는 자기 시어머니에게 입을 맞추되 룻은 그녀에게 굳게 붙으므로

15. 15 "Look," said Naomi, "your sister-in-law is going back to her people and her gods. Go back with her."

    15 그녀가 이르되, 보라, 네 동서는 자기 백성과 자기 신들에게 돌아갔으니 너도 네 동서를 따라 돌아가라, 하매

16. 16 But Ruth replied, "Dont urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.

    16 룻이 이르되, 나더러 어머니를 떠나거나 어머니를 따르지 말고 돌아가라고 강권하지 마소서. 어머니께서 가시는 곳에 나도 가고 어머니께서 묵으시는 곳에 나도 묵으리이다. 어머니의 백성이 내 백성이 되고 어머니의 하나님이 내 하나님이 되시리니

17. 17 Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me."

    17 어머니께서 죽으시는 곳에서 나도 죽어 거기 묻힐 것이니이다. 만일 죽음 외에 다른 어떤 것이 나와 어머니를 갈라놓으면 주께서 내게 벌을 내리시고 더 내리시기를 원하나이다, 하므로

18. 18 When Naomi realized that Ruth was determined to go with her, she stopped urging her.

    18 룻이 자기와 함께 가기로 굳게 결심한 것을 나오미가 보고는 그녀에게 말하기를 그치니라.

19. 19 So the two women went on until they came to Bethlehem. When they arrived in Bethlehem, the whole town was stirred because of them, and the women exclaimed, "Can this be Naomi?"

    19 ¶ 이에 그들 둘이 가서 마침내 베들레헴에 다다랐는데 그들이 베들레헴에 이르렀을 때에 온 도시가 그들로 인해 요동하며 말하기를, 이 사람이 나오미냐? 하므로

20. 20 "Dont call me Naomi," she told them. "Call me Mara, because the Almighty has made my life very bitter.

    20 그녀가 그들에게 이르되, 나를 나오미라 부르지 말고 마라라 부르라. 전능자께서 나를 심히 괴롭게 하셨느니라.

21. 21 I went away full, but the LORD has brought me back empty. Why call me Naomi? The LORD has afflicted me; the Almighty has brought misfortune upon me."

    21 내가 풍족하게 나갔으나 주께서 나를 빈손으로 집에 다시 데려오셨느니라. 주께서 나를 대적하여 증언하셨고 전능자께서 나를 괴롭게 하셨는데 너희가 어찌하여 나를 나오미라 부르느냐? 하니라.

22. 22 So Naomi returned from Moab accompanied by Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter-in-law, arriving in Bethlehem as the barley harvest was beginning.

    22 이렇게 나오미가 모압 지방에서 돌아온 자기 며느리 모압 여인 룻과 함께 돌아왔으며 그들이 보리 수확을 시작할 때에 베들레헴에 다다랐더라.
